Kicks broke one of his rackets a few weeks ago, so we thought it would be a good idea to replace it. We also knew that he wanted to buy a pair of badminton shoes, so we were happy to oblige. We actually had to think of ways to stop him from getting his own shoes as he had planned to buy them a few weeks ago. The best we could come up was that we told him the Grand Sale was coming up and it would a better idea to wait for the sales for the shoes. He was smart kid, so he could guess that we were getting him the shoes. It was not helped either when one of the gang asked his shoe size, not in a subtle way. That probably gave the game away too. He started playing badminton with his new racket and shoes and he said he liked them! Well, would he say he didn't?
